NORtheast Plumbing & Mechanical

Home Water Filtration Systems

Your tap water meets federal standards. That’s not the same as pure. Northeast Plumbing & Mechanical installs whole house water filtration and reverse osmosis systems that remove up to 99% of dissolved contaminants — from every tap, shower, and appliance in your Greater Cleveland home.

What's Actually in Your Water?

Cleveland Water complies with all federal Maximum Contaminant Level standards — and we want to be straightforward about that. But compliant and pure are not the same thing.

The Environmental Working Group’s Tap Water Database identified over 100 contaminants present in Ohio’s drinking water, including PFAS “forever chemicals” — compounds the EPA only issued its first enforceable limits on in April 2024. Ohio is also still replacing lead service lines across the state, and homes built before 1986 may have lead solder at plumbing joints that no water treatment facility controls.

Northeast Ohio water consistently measures in the moderately hard to very hard range for mineral content. That scale builds up in your water heater, dishwasher, and washing machine every single day — shortening appliance life and driving up energy costs.

A professionally installed water filtration system removes what compliance standards don’t address — from every tap in your home.

Common Contaminants in Ohio Water:

  • PFAS / Forever Chemicals
  • Lead
  • Disinfectant Byproducts
  • Chlorine
  • Heavy Metals
  • Nitrates
  • Hard Water Minerals (Calcium, Magnesium)
  • Sediment
  • Arsenic

Water Filtration Solutions We Install

Whole House Reverse Osmosis System — $1,499

Point-of-entry installation at your main water line. Multi-stage filtration removes up to 99% of dissolved contaminants — PFAS, lead, chlorine, heavy metals, nitrates, and more — before water reaches any faucet, shower, or appliance. The most comprehensive residential water treatment available. Professional installation, flat rate.

Water Heater Anode Rod Service — $525

The anode rod is the sacrificial metal rod inside your water heater that prevents the tank from corroding. When it depletes — typically every 3–5 years — your tank walls are fully exposed to rust. Our complete service includes rod replacement, full sediment flush, pressure relief valve test, and written condition report. Extends water heater life by years and protects your warranty.

Under-Sink & Drinking Water Filtration — Call for Quote

A targeted solution for a single faucet — typically the kitchen sink. A good entry point for homeowners who want filtered drinking water without a full whole-house commitment. Multi-stage RO or carbon filtration depending on your water quality needs.

HOW IS WHOLE HOUSE RO DIFFERENT FROM AN UNDER-SINK FILTER?

An under-sink system treats one point of use — typically one faucet. A whole house RO system installs at your main water line before water reaches any part of your home. Every faucet, shower, appliance, and pipe receives filtered water. It’s a completely different scope of protection.

A properly sized and installed system maintains normal household water pressure. We assess your home’s pressure before installation and pressure-test the full system after — you won’t notice a reduction at any tap.

Pre-filter cartridges typically need annual replacement. The RO membrane lasts 2–4 years depending on your water quality and usage volume. Annual maintenance costs generally run $100–200 in filter media — significantly less than what most Greater Cleveland families spend on bottled water each year.

.

RO membranes do remove calcium and magnesium alongside harmful contaminants. For homeowners concerned about dietary mineral intake, we can discuss remineralization options — though most essential minerals in a healthy diet come from food rather than tap water.

Thanks so much for your wonderful service!

This place is great – In and out quickly, and the technicians, Dale and Chase, were respectful, exceptionally kind and even really funny too. They created a safe and welcoming environment and explained everything very simply, in a way that was easy to understand. I would definitely use this company again, as this was a great experience. They even squeezed us in for a same day appointment, which was great. You guys are the best – Thanks so much for your wonderful service!
